A visual narrative where the characters are the beauty of Ethiopia and its people, its customs and cultural traditions against the backdrop of its majestic geography. The origins of this work go back to 2009, with the production of a documentary on the street children from a small village near Addis Abeba. Marco Paoli has since continued his exploration of the multi-faceted aspects of this ancient land on the Horn of Africa on four separate trips, traveling on foot, by bicycle and by car. The images are intensily connected with the spirit of the land and of the people met along the way: the result is an intimate journey told in pictures that are filtered through personal sensibility and experience. The camera is an essential instrument serving the discerning eye of the artist.
